Emory wearing the bow-tie I made using the Tutorial from Lemon Squeezy Blog |
For some reason the almost spring weather has made me think Emory needs a few new snappy accessories added to his wardrobe. I think it's this whole, I can't believe there are 4 weeks of winter left , has put me in the mood to start crafting some new digs for the spring weather. Maybe I can will the clouds to part and the sunshine to raidiat through. Well, to start I thought I would look-up bow-tie tutorials and actually try one. There are quite a few out there! I recently purchased a bow-tie PDF pattern from Etsy too from the shop Crab Apple Attic.
The bow tie in the photos above are from Lemon Squeezy Home and her super easy bow-tie tutorial. I have a truly elderly sewing machine (from the 1960's) and it could even pull off this project, so it is written very well with minimal sewing required. The fabric is a recycled Kenneth Cole dress shirt that my husband no longer wears, thus qualifying this little craft inspiration for Project Restyle too. Oh it feels good to have something new in my son's closet without spending a dime.
What projects have you been working on lately? Any restyling of old items into new?
Adorable!
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect accessory for a little boy! He will certainly be looking sharp this spring. :-)
