Vegetarian Sundays::Chai Tea Recipe
Happy Sunday friends. Did you all check out the giveaway yesterday? Hope so! Today I wish to share with you my new obsession...CHAI TEA! Oh, yum. Spicy, creamy, goodness for the soul. I know it's getting warmer out so it may not seem like a spiced tea kind of weather, but you can always have this over ice too!
OK, so how to make it? Totally simple. Especially if you cheat a little and use a dried "chai tea" tea bag and then just spruce that up a bit. Here's what I usually do:
Ingredients:
1/2 TSP Nutmeg
1/2 TSP Cardamon
1/2TSP Ground white pepper
1/2 TSP Dried Ginger
1 WholeStar Anise
1/2 TSP Ground Dried Cloves
1/4 cup whole milk
1 TBS Sugar
Mix together all of the dried spices except for the star anise (you can use this spice mixture for at least 3 more chais). Steep your tea bag in boiling water in a mug for about 3-5 minutes with the star anise. Remove the star anise and add 1 TSP of the spice mixture you made and the sugar to the hot tea. Stir well. Pour in the milk and enjoy. Simply divine?
Try it over ice too. Add a little extra sugar if you like it sweeter. Peace, Love and JOY to you!
