Daily Inspiration: In Bloom

Can I tell you a secret? OK, now don't get too excited. For some reason I am whispering this as I am typing...I know, weird. Anyway, these beautiful pictures of the stunning roses from my yard, the ones in this very post... were taken months ago by my Mother-in-Law. (whispered)

So, why is this strange girl confessing in hushed tones that she's posting old pictures?...And they are somehow  supposed to be inspirational?

OK, so here's the deal. I was recently reminded of the close-up picture, the one you see above, as it was the center piece on my Mother's Day Card from the said Mother-in-Law this past weekend. It was stunning. Breath-taking, really.

The color is so alive. Vibrant. A reminder that summer is on it's way. It has inspired me to come alive again too. It's time to tap back into what feeds me creatively. It's time to bloom.

I hope over the next few days to share images, snippets and findings that are currently inspiring me. I hope you will consider doing the same.

2012 Goal List

Before I jump into all these ideas that are making my feet jump with anticipation for 2012. I want to start with some real talk about the year 2011. It was an amazing year... a year of finding for me.  My family and I found our home. I found a new career that I can do from home and still be with my son daily. I found old passions that had long since been forgotten. And I finally found time. Time to practice my daily movement. Time to dream and plan for the future. Time to make nutritious and tasty meals. Time to rest.

My aspirations for this new year include putting some of that "found time" to use. I am making my plans for 2012, and I am excited to share them with you in this space soon.

To help me make these future plans I used a goal list designed by Julie Ann Arts. Once I finish mine, I am so going to post it on my bedroom mirror to help keep me on track, in addition to sharing the goals with all of you here. Below is an image of the goal sheet and link to Julie Ann's beautiful blog.

Happy New Year Friends!

Weekly Distractions

Hello dear readers! The quiet is almost over, and I am simmering with so many wonderful DIY projects, blog-spirations, cooking concoctions (most delicious) and all that makes Goat Notes so dear to my heart (and hopefully to yours too) that I will share with you starting in 2012. In the midst of all of this holiday cheer I have found a few havens in my daily mandated time of "me time" these past few weeks. Here's what's been distracting me from the house chores this week:

*This podcast has gotten me so interested in France during the time when Versalles was the place to be (and be seen!).
*I am loving this artist's work and blog
* Listening to this group while making avgolemono (Greek lemon soup)
* Dying to make Rosemary and Brown Sugar Roasted Walnuts
* Thinking about infusing some more vodka like this

What's been distracting you?
