Weekly Distractions

 Happy Friday! There has been lot's of music playing in my house this week, and some of my very favorite tunes have included Goat Rodeo (love the name!) and MaMuse (Love, love them and the fact that they are performing in my old stomping grounds of Chico, CA). Weekly Distractions

Hello dear readers! The quiet is almost over, and I am simmering with so many wonderful DIY projects, blog-spirations, cooking concoctions (most delicious) and all that makes Goat Notes so dear to my heart (and hopefully to yours too) that I will share with you starting in 2012. In the midst of all of this holiday cheer I have found a few havens in my daily mandated time of "me time" these past few weeks. Here's what's been distracting me from the house chores this week:

*This podcast has gotten me so interested in France during the time when Versalles was the place to be (and be seen!).
*I am loving this artist's work and blog
* Listening to this group while making avgolemono (Greek lemon soup)
* Dying to make Rosemary and Brown Sugar Roasted Walnuts
* Thinking about infusing some more vodka like this

Weekly Distractions

It's been a whirlwind of a week, and it is not even close to being over. We are under a lot of pressure as we have yet to close on our house...I know, it's ridiculous! We have been waiting for over a month and have been pushing and pushing to make it happen. We have until next Tuesday, so fingers crossed. This weekend we are moving all of our stuff into a POD container, cleaning our current home and then shipping out to spend some time with family and friends. If we didn'thhavve  We will in all sense of the word be homeless.
Since, I am human and I can't just spend all my time organizing, cleaning and throwing ever more items into boxes, I thought I would share a few of my...um...distractions from the week. They amused me (some continue to amuse) and I thought you might enjoy them too.

This Video just brought a smile to my face. The dancer and performer in me couldn't help but enjoy this montage!

I have been reading this lovely, and well written, biography of Ms. Jane Austen most nights. So surprising how little is known about this, well, well-known author!
